VRF

VRF

VRF is a technology that alternates the refrigerant gas volume in just 1 outdoor to match a building’s precise requirements over a number of internal fan coils over many different areas. These are common systems to install in offices, schools and tower blocks.

With up to 64 indoor air conditioning units connected to one outdoor unit, the VRF system operates similar to a Multi-Split system. Each individual indoor unit determines the capacity it needs based on the current indoor temperature and requested temperature from the remote control (set point). The systems can either heat or cool (referred to as a heat pump) or heat and cool simultaneously (known as heat recovery)

We’ve recently completed a 6th form learning campus in Cwmbran, which is a building full of class rooms spread over 4 levels. The heat recovery VRF systems we’ve installed serve many different areas such as ICT Classrooms, break-out areas and chill-out spaces for the pupils and staff. All of the systems are connected to a centralised touch screen controller that has been set-up and scheduled only to run when the rooms are in use. This will ensure that the energy costs remain low.
